Emergency Landing and Evacuation

Air India released a statement confirming that flight AI119, en route to New York’s JFK, was diverted to Delhi after a specific bomb threat was received.

The airline stated that the decision was made based on a security alert from the government’s regulatory committee.

Upon landing, all passengers disembarked safely at the terminal, where the airline’s ground staff is working to minimize disruptions caused by the incident.

“Our top priority is the safety and security of our passengers and crew,” Air India said in its statement. The airline also mentioned that the flight is rescheduled for October 15 to continue its journey to New York.

Security Measures at IGI Airport

The aircraft has been stationed on an isolation runway at the Delhi airport, where security teams, including a bomb squad, have conducted thorough checks of the plane.

Delhi police reported that all necessary safety protocols were followed, and security agencies at the airport remain on high alert.

Officials have urged the public not to spread unverified information and assured that updates will be provided as the investigation continues.

The bomb threat was initially reported via a message on social media, which Mumbai airport authorities relayed to security teams in Delhi.

Following this, the decision was made to divert the flight for precautionary reasons.

Similar Bomb Threats on IndiGo Flights

Interestingly, this incident comes shortly after a London-bound Air India flight faced a similar bomb scare, leading to an emergency landing.

In a related development, two IndiGo flights also reported bomb threats on Monday morning.

Flight 6E 1275 from Mumbai to Muscat and Flight 6E 56 from Mumbai to Jeddah both received bomb threats.

Security agencies are investigating these cases, though no immediate threats have been found.

Conclusion

The recent bomb threats have caused disruptions in flight operations, but authorities are ensuring that all safety measures are strictly followed.

The quick response from security teams and airlines has helped manage the situation, with all passengers safe.

As security checks continue, updates will follow regarding any further action. For now, travelers are advised to stay informed through official channels.
